always follow your dream

There were once 2 brothers who lived on the 80th level. On coming home one day, they realized to their dismay that the lifts were not working and that they have to climb the stairs home.

After struggling to the 20th level, panting and tired, they decided to abandon their bags and come back for them the next day. They left their bags then and climbed on. When they have struggled to the 40th level, the younger brother started to grumble and both of them began to quarrel. They continued to climb the flights of steps, quarreling all the way to the 60th floor.

They then realized that they have only 20 levels more to climb and decided to stop quarreling and continue climbing in peace. They silently climbed on and reached their home at long last. Each stood calmly before the door and waited for the other to open the door. And they realized that the key was in their bags which was left on the 20th floor.

This story is reflecting on our life…many of us live under the expectations of our parents, teachers and friends when young. We seldom get to do the things that we really like and love and are under so much pressure and stress so that by the age of 20, we get tired and decided to dump this load.
Being free of the stress and pressure, we work enthusiastically and dream ambitious wishes. But by the time we reach 40 years old, we start to lose our vision and dreams. We began to feel unsatisfied and start to complain and criticize. We live life as a misery as we are never satisfied. Reaching 60, we realize that we have little left for complaining anymore, and we began to walk the final episode in peace and calmness.

We think that there is nothing left to disappoint us, only to realize that we could not rest in peace because we have an unfulfilled dream …… a dream we abandoned 60 years ago.

So what is your dream? Follow your dreams, so that you will not live with regrets.

singtel 1626

my iphone needs repair. as i lost my documents for the warranty. not to waste the effort going down comcenter if warranty is void, i called to singtel 1626 under the iphone section to ask. i told the cso that i lost the documents asked if i can still repair my iphone under warranty as i have registered my iphone online.

the answer is "i dont know, please go down to the comcentre and check it out.". omfg! she is so stupid. i wouldnt have call if i'm goin down. i just wanna check with the helpline/hotline whatever line so that i dont waste time.

i hold my anger and ask her nicely.
"is there any other way that i can check it out."
"NO, i dont know sir." she said
"hmmm, then do you have any comcenter's contact no that i can call and check out myself"
"NO, i dont have it with me sir." she said
"is there anyway you can help me check it out?"
"NO, i dont know sir." she said
"how about any emails that i can ask about my prob?"
"NO sir, i really dont know" she said " please go down to the comcenter and they will advise you accordingly"

i totally speechless. and hang up the phone in anger!!! how can a cso dont know anything? and dont even bother to help me check it out. they dont even have tel no of biggest singtel branch. omg.

singtel please at least get someone who knows how to answer and help out. dont outsource your cso operation to other countries can? save my job for singapore please.

"star"

these days seems like an "in" word for me. what stars really do? stars shine.

and it seems like everyone is a star. we touch the lives of our friends and love ones cos we shine upon them. they shine our life as well.

"the challenges are high, the dreams are new. dare to dream. dare to try. no goal is too distant. no star is too high. just get going."

i would consider myself as a superstar! hahaha. what star are you?

Jerry Ong

is been a long time since i cry.

These few days i was in the wake of my grandpa, Jerry Ong. he was a catholic. church members, priest and relatives gathered everyday to pray for my grandpa.

and today was the funeral itself. we walk a distance with my grandpa before we proceed to the church to pray for him. soon after, we were at mandai awaiting for the cremation. as we present him flowers on his coffin and take a look at him one last time. tears gathered rapidly around my eyes. there was this sudden sadness fill within me. "this is the last time i going to see him" i thought to myself.

as he was push into cremation. my uncle and aunt, my cousins and sister, my dad and i couldnt hold our tears as we all begin to cry. that point of time, i truly felt and understand how is it to lose someone dearly.

"the best and most beautiful things in life cannot be seen, not touched, but are felt in the heart." - helen keller, 1880-1968

it wasnt a good feeling. as we went back after the ceremony. i couldnt stop thinking. my tears couldnt stop. i couldnt stop wondering: "have i treat my love ones good enough and with respect when they are still alive.."

fifteen of march, two thousand and nine

marks a very special day.

Both Jerry and Desmond were favoured by the God and have began a new yet different journey.

2am in that morning, soon after i have prepared my clothes for my cousin, Desmond's ROM later that day and just ended a msn chat with someone that has shaken me, my dad's phone rang. it was my uncle who called. my dad and i knew what the call is about. our suspicions were confirmed after picking up the call. Jerry has pass away.

Jerry died with a smile on his face after defying death so long. he fulfiled his final wishes; to see his new granddaughter-in-law and all his children. i guess it was a relief for Jerry after living with half stroke for 6 years and recently, diagnosed with terminal stage of stomach cancer.

Jerry lived til a ripe old age of 85. he was a man who grabs every opportunity and live life to the fullest..

at the same time. i am wondering about myself, having missing countless opportunities as i'm afraid to pursue it. what does living means to me?

i know i need the girl that has shaken me up. how?

exams

paintball-ing

with 9 teachers was a fun one where we play 3 matches. 5vs5 twice and 2 on 2 once.

the objective is to retrieve a flag and a small box located on the left and right side of the border. as imagine, shots was fast and fury. especially those braves to attempt to get the objectives was heavily marked!! i kena headshot 3 times (1 shot went into my mouth !#$%^&*() and 1 groin shot. but overall my team won all 3 matches thanks to selflessness individual and great teamplay.

this week ends up with me knowing 10 teachers (1 from toastmaster). i always thought teachers have dull and bored lifestyle but after recent events with them tells me they are awesome ppl to hang out with!!!.

harry

A Primary School teacher was having trouble with one of her students. The teacher asked, "Harry, what is your problem?" Harry answered, "I'm too smart for the Primary 1. My sister is in Primary 3 and I'm smarter than she is! I think I should be in Primary 3 too!"

The teacher took Harry to the principal's office. While Harry waited in the outer office, the teacher explained to the principal that the situation was. The principal told the teacher he would give the boy a test and if he failed to answer any of his questions he was to go back to the Primary 1, and behave. The teacher agreed. Harry was brought in. The conditions were explained, and Harry agreed to take the test.

Principal: "What is 3 x 3?"
Harry: "9"

Principal: "What is 6 x 6?"
Harry: "36"

And so it went with every question the principal thought a Primary 1 student should know. The principal looks at the teacher and tells her, "I think Harry can go to Primary 3."The teacher says to the principal, "May I ask him some tougher questions?"The principal and Harry both agree.

Teacher: "What does a cow have four of that I have only two?"
Harry: "Legs.

"Teacher: "What is in your pants that you have but I do not have?"(The principal wondered, why does she ask such a question!)
Harry: "Pockets."

Teacher: "What does a dog do that a man steps into?
"Harry: "Pants."

Teacher: "What's starts with a C and ends with a T, and it is hairy, oval, delicious and contains thin whitish liquid?"(The principal's eyes open really wide and before he could stop the answer...)Harry: "Coconut."

Teacher: "What goes in hard and pink then comes out soft and sticky?"
Harry: "Bubblegum."

Teacher: "What does a man do standing up, a woman do sitting down and dog do on three legs?"(The principal's eyes open really wide and before he could stop the answer...)
Harry: "Shake hands."

Teacher: "Now I will ask some 'Who am I' sort of questions, okay?"
Teacher: "You stick your poles inside me. You tie me down to get me up. I get wet before you do." Who am I??
Harry: "A Tent."

Teacher: "A finger goes in me. You fiddle with me when you're bored. The best man always has me first." What am I??(Principal was looking restless and a bit tense)
Harry: "A Wedding Ring.

"Teacher: "I come in many sizes. When I'm not well, I drip. When you blow me, I feel good." What am I??
Harry: "A Nose.

"Teacher: "I have a stiff shaft. My tip penetrates. I come with a quiver. What am I??
"Harry: "An Arrow."

Teacher: "What word starts with an 'F' and ends in 'K' that means a lot of excitement?"
Harry: "Firetruck."

The principal breathed a sigh of relief and told the teacher, "Put this ass in Primary 6 ! I got the last 10 questions all wrong myself."

hero

previously about the adam khoo's talk. he ends with mariah carey's "hero"
the lyrics is fantastic, so is the singer

chorus
and then a hero comes along
with the strength to carry on
and you cast your fears aside
and you know you can survive
so when you feel like hope is gone
look inside you and be strong
and you'll finally see the truth
that a hero lies in you

national achiever's congress

this week is pretty much the nac or rather national achiever's congress which is held at expo over a 3 day period. 9am to 9pm.

various speakers including blair singer, joe girard... were on stage. they were like motivational speakers which talks about topics like.. sales, ecommerce, self improvement, biz strategies etc

very interesting and captivating.. but near the end of every speech, they will sell/push their products(books, audio tapes, online learning, seminars, lessons etc). prices like sixty-nine ninety five is not $69.95! it means $6995. they sure have a way to say numbers in a beautiful ways!

but nevertheless, it was a fruitful trip learning from the gurus who already make millions. i met alvin and beng over there. i was talking to beng and he said, "the ticket cost 230. i have pick up 3 good points from the speaker and it's worth it!".. true enough, picking up a few good points and use it. it certainly helps ur biz to grow!

way back into love

This song is a simple way of saying what's inside of your heart, when you find someone new and you think that person could be "the one" - but you've been hurt so many times before that you're afraid to move forward without some encouragement from this new love in your life. Once the encouragement is given, then your heart opens and you're free to love again.

rich man's world

An American businessman was standing at the pier of a small coastal Mexican village when a small boat with just one fisherman docked. Inside the small boat were several large yellowfin tuna. The American complimented the Mexican on the quality of his fish.

"How long it took you to catch them?" The American asked.

"Only a little while." The Mexican replied.

"Why don't you stay out longer and catch more fish?" The American then asked.

"I have enough to support my family's immediate needs." The Mexican said.

"But," The American then asked, "What do you do with the rest of your time?"

The Mexican fisherman said, "I sleep late, fish a little, play with my children, take a siesta with my wife, Maria, stroll into the village each evening where I sip wine and play guitar with my amigos, I have a full and busy life, senor."

The American scoffed, "I am a Harvard MBA and could help you. You should spend more time fishing and with the proceeds you buy a bigger boat, and with the proceeds from the bigger boat you could buy several boats, eventually you would have a fleet of fishing boats."

"Instead of selling your catch to a middleman you would sell directly to the consumers, eventually opening your own can factory. You would control the product, processing and distribution. You would need to leave this small coastal fishing village and move to Mexico City, then LA and eventually NYC where you will run your expanding enterprise."

The Mexican fisherman asked, "But senor, how long will this all take?"

To which the American replied, "15-20 years." "But what then, senor?"

The American laughed and said, "That's the best part. When the time is right you would announce an IPO (Initial Public Offering) and sell your company stock to the public and become very rich, you would make millions." "Millions, senor? Then what?"

The American said slowly, "Then you would retire. Move to a small coastal fishing village where you would sleep late, fish a little, play with your kids, take a siesta with your wife, stroll to the village in the evenings where you could sip wine and play your guitar with your amigos…"

thanks marcus!!
